There are currently in DragonRealms. I hope their adventures are as big as mine...

Welcome to the Combat Tips section! Here you'll find an in-depth guide to combat! So, let's get started...
Stance Your stance is the balance of your effort. Everyone has their own style of combat, and the stance is just that; your style. Type STANCE and you'll see something like this...
You are currently using 100% of your evasion skill.
You are currently using 40% of your weapon parry skill.
You are currently using 40% of your shield block skill.
You are attacking with 100% of your offensive skill.
That may not be the way it's originally set, but the one I have is a good one. But wait, you don't use a shield, you say? Well, I have just the solution for you. Type STANCE SHIELD 0. Then type STANCE. It should look something like this...
You are currently using 100% of your evasion skill.
You are currently using 40% of your weapon parry skill.
You are currently using 0% of your shield block skill.
You are attacking with 100% of your offensive skill.
So just like that, you've changed your stance. A shield is now dead weight in your hand, you will neither use nor learn it. To allocate the 40% you've got left, type STANCE PARRY 80. Your stance will now look like this...
You are currently using 100% of your evasion skill.
You are currently using 80% of your weapon parry skill.
You are currently using 0% of your shield block skill.
You are attacking with 100% of your offensive skill.
Keep in mind that if a stance is under 40%, it's treated as if it were 0%. At 100%, you are focusing full attention on whatever area it's at, making learning and usage very easy. Experiment and see what works for you. Maneuvers There are quite a few options in combat that can get you out of some nasty situations. Their uses are listed here...Keep in mind that (brawling only) means you can still be holding your weapon, but you must be in brawling mode (type brawl to get into brawling mode). Parry: Raises your weapon in front of you to prepare to deflect an attack. Also increases balance and position. Cancelled by:Attack. Reccomended for:Heavy Edged, Medium Edged. Dodge: Gets you into a flexed, alert position which is easy to evade attacks from. Increases balance. Cancelled by: Attack. Reccomended for: Ranged weapons, Light Edged. Shove (brawling only):A powerful push can either... a)Do nothing b)knock your opponent off balance c)Knock your opponent over d)Send your opponent flying back to missile range and knocked over. Circle (brawling only): Sidesteps around your opponent into a better position. Bob (brawling only): Causes you to crouch suddenly, giving a distinct evasive advantage. Weave (brawling only):Tricky footwork keeps your opponent guessing. Now...onto the weapon types... Heavy Edged Broadswords, Longswords, and the rest of those oh-so wonderful bladed weapons fall under this category. If you're using this type of weapon, it's a pretty good idea to parry a lot. Like...after every attack unless you've got the advantage. With the lighter heavy edged weapons, try jabbing and parrying until you've got a good advantage, then slice. If you've still got the advantage, use draw. Large Blunt Weapons such as morning stars, haras, and ball and chains are becoming more and more popular. The weapon in and of itself is extremely effective if you use the following tactic...Bash...Draw...Bash...Draw. Plain and simple. No frilly moves, no nothing. Just do that, and you're set. You'll be in perfect balance standing on top of a stunned foe in no time. Ah...Now here's where I hit a wall. As someone who only uses HE and LB, I know little of other weapons. But fear not! I'll be collecting information and finishing this guide soon! E-mail me!
